Flexkeypad Component

Actionscript 3.0, Flex Components, General No Comments »

Hi guys,

When we came across the fullscreen capabilities of Flash, we were awed! We deployed several applications to use this feature and along these lines, a client needed users to enter in text even at fullscreen, Nah! mighty Adobe has disabled my Keyboard! The option we had was to develop a mouse-based keypad, branded FlexKeypad and have decided to share it as a free SWC Flex component.

You can grab a copy from our download pad. However, this is a call to make it a more universal keyboard cos at the moment it supports only English characters. Should you be interested in extending its capabilities to include other languages like Chinese, Japanese, French, Dutch etc, please drop us a line and we’ll send you the source.

This language extension will really help make it universal and useful to several other developers who might have wished to capture text inputs even at fullscreen.

You can view the sample and download the package from: http://www.flexcubed.com/component_details.php?id=5390bf58092c5e60bf82331cb3bd89a0

Thanx.

PixFormat Update

Actionscript 3.0, Flex Components, General 3 Comments »

Hi guys, we have recently updated the PixFormat component. It now features a Clip Arts Gallery tab where developers can preload images for client’s use at runtime. Some other bugs like vector processing have also been fixed. Delete key now deletes any selected image on the canvas.

Get to the Downloadpad and download a copy. Sample can be viewed here: http://flexcubed.com/component_details.php?id=ba7f51548179725f11c9786a5e2853df

New YouTube class

Actionscript 3.0, Flash Components, Flex Components, General 1 Comment »

We developed a simple light class to connect to the YouTube gdata API and source playlists and featured videos.

It’s a less comprehensive, simpler script than the Adobe’s release on code.google.com but it’s based on the new YouTube gdata API that doesn’t require a developer’s key to access data but connects through a proxy file to the gdata server to access youtube videos.

You can download the free script on our download pad You can edit or share any addition on this blog.

Thanks.
